When selecting materials for job H.Winter Tile can help you find the materials that are appropriate for the type of installation so your tile will maintain its original beauty for years to come. Especially when installing tiles outdoors, in steam showers, shower, and floors there are guidelines that you want to follow. Porcelain tiles are the best solution for floor applications indoors and outdoors. Some porcelain tiles are commercial rated and have different durability ratings, consider how much traffic the area will get when determining what tile is right for you. Every porcelain tile in the H.Winter showroom is suitable for indoor residential applications. When installing outdoor you must use a porcelain tile, because they are frost proof. In addition to being porcelain, be sure you select material that has texture to the surface so you have some slip resistant for areas that will be exposed to the weather. Keep in mind that all hard surfaces can be slippery when wet including tile, wood, laminate, concrete, and others. When installing showers be sure you select materials that will not oxidize or deteriorate in moisture. Some metal materials, natural stones, and other specialty products are not suitable for shower or steam shower applications. Materials containing metal like metal mosaics, glazes using metal oxides, and stones that naturally contain metal can rust or oxidize creating unsightly stains on the surface of your tiles.
